I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Experimental Astrophysics Group in the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Recently I completed my PhD studies, working with Prof. Shay Zucker at the Department of Geophysics and Planetary sciences, Tel-Aviv University.
I am interested in a broad range of topics involving Extra-Solar planets, with an emphasis on transiting systems.
The main research subject of my PhD was developing a novel statistical approach (the Directed Follow-Up algorithm, or shortly - DFU) for planetary transit detection, especially tailored for low-cadence photometric surveys. In the proccess of my study I examined the DFU strategy application for Hipparcos and its succesor- Gaia.
The study included an examination of the expected yield of transiting Jovian planets from Gaia photometry, to estimate the mission potential contribution to the ongoing search.
Currently, I colaborate with Eran Ofek, conducting and analyzing the first all-sky high resolution H-alpha survey within the Palomar Transient Survey, with emphasis on measuring the SFR in the local universe.
