Housing Project at the Weizmann Institute of Science

Report of the meeting the ``vaadat higui''.

Tuesday, February 1, 2000

Present: Gad Kober, Amos Arieli, Amnon Horowitz, Elisha Moses, Dan Yakir, Daniel Zajfman

  1. The new vaada is made of the above mentioned scientists.
  2. Gadi Kober reported that the city council will discuss our project February 9. He is having meetings on the subject including the mayor.
  3. Epstein and Co. (one of largest Suerpvision (Pikuach) companies in Israel) was chosen as the new "mefakeakh" (in accordance with the recommendations of the old vaada). The engineer facing us will be Iko and at the construction stage will have a local office and assistants as required. Gadi is preparing a contract and Eliezer Ronen will have a chance to look at it.
  4. In order to resolve the difficulties with the architect, Nicki, it was resolved that he stays as the Project Architect, but the actual preparation and responsibility of the Construction Plans, including the interfacing with the various consultants (electricity, sewage etc.) will be taken over by an experienced office with sufficient team to handle everything involved in preparing the 1:20 working plans and technical aspects ("kamuyot" etc., together with the new mefakeakh). A suitable candidate (who agrees to the scheme has been proposed and is being checked out.
  5. The finalized "Development Plan" should be presented to us within a week or so. A delaying factor is the two house plans that are missing (the actual contours of all housed must show in the "town plan"). The two relevant families are urged to send in the plans. Arrangements will then be made for your perusal of the "Development plan".
  6. "Tokhniot Hagasha" (for permits from the Iria) should all be ready by February 20. Please do your best so that there are no delays from our side (=look at them carefully, have your architects work out all corrections with Niki).
  7. Most of you already received a note from Niki/Gad that your plans have been accepted by Niki and by the institute. You are requested to sign on a COPY OF THE PLAN which was approved and send it back to Gad Kober (that does not mean in any way you cannot make changes later, but such changes must also be approved,).
