Housing Project at the Weizmann Institute of Science

Report of the meeting the ``vaadat higui''.

Present: Niki, Yonathan, Gad Kober Israel Bar-Yosef, Aldo Shemesh, Amnon Horowitz, Daniel Zajfman, Eliezer Ronen

1. A short report was given by Gad on the overall schedule of the project. There is again a delay caused by the fact that the city of Rehovot has not yet taken a decision on the project. The next meeting of the City Committee is scheduled to be on November 10, and it is hoped that at that point we will received a positive answer. Basically, from now on, this is what makes the whole project standing still.
2. Accoring to the point above, a new schedule was set up. Based on this schedule, and if the city of Rehovot gives his agreement, the infrastructure work should start by the end of November. This is linked to the condition that we sign the contract with the Institute.
3. The whole infrastructure plan (Pituach) of the twon is basically ready. We plan to have a meeting next week where the exact location of each houses, stairs, alleys, fences, trash, electricity and communication boxes will be shown.
4. The constructor is working on the basic houses (``typussim'') construction, and we hope that by January, every one of us will get the final plan (scale 1/50) of the house, were details (electricity etc..) will be dealt with. THUS, WE URGE EVERYBODY, AND SPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET STARTED (!) TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR ARCHITECT AND/OR NIKI ASAP! Plans must be finalize so that the architects and the constructor will not have to go back and forth with your corrections. It takes months for the main architect of the project to convert your plan to working plans, so we should all have these handy and ready.
5. As part of the previous point, we would like to stress that everybody should check the size of the house. There has been some disagreement betwen the value given by the different architects, and everybody should check that the numbers are correct.
