Assistance to Business Entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Immigration Absorption assists entrepreneurs wishing to set up small business in Israel. Assistance is made available in the field of business consultation, through Business and Technological Incubators operating in some 20 population centers in Israel.

Incubators help determine personal business management capabilities, examine the market and assess how worthwhile it will be to establish the business, prepare a business plan and liaise with financing sources - banks and foundations. Incubators also help find partners or potential investors as well as providing business apprenticeship services, where needed.

Information is obtainable from the head of the returning residents division in your residential district, after returning to Israel, or from Israeli consulates abroad.

Professional Organizations

The Association of New Entrepreneurs is a non-profit organization, established in 1992, to promote and represent new immigrant entrepreneurs. The Association operates under the auspices of the Chambers of Commerce and is headquartered in the Chamber of Commerce Building in Tel Aviv's main business district, at:

The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce is Israel's largest business organization, including among its membership thousands of enterprises in all sectors of the economy - wholesale and retail commerce, export and import trade, manufacturing, financial, banking, real-estate, advertising, direct marketing, shipping, forwarding and many other service operations. It serves as the umbrella organization for the country's six regional Chambers of Commerce located in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Beer Sheva, Nazareth and Eilat.

Professional Licencing Procedures

In most academic professions, a licence is required. Professionals having acquired their education outside Israel, and wishing to engage in their profession in Israel, are obliged, in most cases, to take a licencing examination, so as to obtain a local licence of qualification. In professions such as medicine, law, accountancy, teaching and nursing, such examinations must be taken. Preparatory courses are usually available, but not always obligatory.
